In Flames, the Swedish metal sensation is back with a vengeance. They just signed to record label Century Media that will soon be releasing their new album (entitled ‘Sounds of a Playground Fading’). This melodious death metal band is a pioneer in the genre, together with bands like At The Gates and Dark Tranquility (of which the original members also grew up in Gothenburg). Their previous album ‘A Sense Of Purpose’ was already a good reason to drop by the AB in October 2008. This time they return to present their latest album and, as special guest, they'll be bringing along Trivium, no less.

Trivium is no unknown to the AB either. In May 2005 they played the ABClub during the Road Rage tour and in April 2007 they first appeared on our main stage. Together with bands like Coheed & Cambria, Killswitch Engage and Atreyu, the band from Florida proves that you don't have to choose between metal and emo. Trivium’s trump card is charismatic singer/guitarist Matthew Heafy who - together with guitarist Corey Beaulieu – exhibits his keen virtuosity in the making of songs. The band took a great leap forward with their album ‘The Crusade’ (2006) and now nestle between big names like Metallica and Iron Maiden. As far as the songs on ‘Shogun’ (2008) are concerned, they also mention In Flames as an important influence. Trivium will also have a new album finished soon too.

Drama and death are the ingredients of Sweden's Ghost. You can keep guessing as to the identity of this masked sixsome but they're rumoured to be Entombed and Watain members. If black metal had existed in the 70's then Ghost would be the irrefutable spearhead of the scene.

Britain's Rise To Remain appeared here in December 2010 with Bullet For My Valentine. This fivesome from London has been earning its stripes in the live circuit since 2008, thanks to tours with Trivium and festivals like Download and Sonisphere. They describe themselves as melodic metal with elements of trash and rock and at the microphone we of course recognize Austin Dickinson: the son of Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson.

Norway's Insense will open the evening with their compact metalcore containing references to Hatebreed, Fear Factory and Entombed. Their new album ‘Burn In Beautiful Fire’ was released last April.

Trivium speelde de pannen van het dak!!!! In flames speelde de rest van de AB weg! Fenomenale avond en veel respect voor Insense! 'ontdekking!' Op naar Mastodon!!!

Je ne connaissais Trivium que de nom . Jamais je n'avais vu une "première partie" mettre le feu de cette manière . Une salle en furie pendant 50 minutes . Là , je me suis dit qu'Anders allait devoir être très bon pour faire mieux !!! A vous de savoir si cela a été le cas ...

Et allez! Encore une tournée où on case 5 groupes. Ces minifestivals itinérants se répandent de plus en plus et c'est hyper agaçant: faut être là de plus en plus tôt, les temps de jeu se réduisent, les ingés-sons doivent jongler avec tout ça sur des timings ultra courts, ce qui est aux dépends du public, et ya toujours l'un ou l'autre groupe de brun dans le tas. Rise to Remain...siouplait, un peu de sérieux...

Clumsy, tu dis n'importe quoi :p Les effets pyro sont absolument pas interdits en belgique. Comme dit bodominfection, Rammstein s'en donne à coeur joie, et je sais de quoi je parle. c'est juste que la pyro n'est autorisée que dans des salles suffisement grandes. Le sportpaleis est énorme et là il n'y a aucun probleme pour la pryo. l'AB est une salle minuscule et donc jamais de pyro ! sinon tout part en fumée

interdit en belgique? pourtant j ai vu nightwish au sportpaleis et a forest national et ils ont utilisés les effects pyrotechnique...sans oublier rammstein!!! enfin bon domage pour in flames. ca n en sera pas moin bon ; D

Non Bodominfection ... les effets pyrotechnique sont interdit en Belgique dans des salles intérieur :/

I'm from the generation next to the one who grew up listen to Iron Maiden ... and the funny thing is while I never listen the band or see them live, it will be the third time (I missed them at the graspop) that I will see Rise to remain with Austin Dickinson! Funny!
