Het Kampioenschap van Brussel is already the 4th edition of the legendary contest for Brussels musicbands.
From the 1st of april, Brusels based bands can subscribe to Het Kampioenschap van Brussel, Brussels biggest music contest!

Previously in 2003, 2005 and 2007 bands (Brussels only!) play the preliminaries, our professional jury then chooses 8 finalists. For this 2009 edition we give 36 bands a spot on stage (instead of 30)! 4 preliminaries find place at the Brussels youth houses, this year we also have 2 preliminaries in the centre of Brussels: @ Recyclart and the Beursschouwburg!

If you have a lot of confidence as a band already, write down the date of the finale: 28th of November @ AB, Brussels.
What we remember of our first 3 editions are the soldout shows and the high quality of our contestants. Reasons enough not to change too much for this brand new edition. First of all is our main goal to create a stage for debutting bands, we managed to put this goal into reality: it’s a mission of the Brussels youth houses to give debutting bands opportunities. In this story we give full responsibility to these youth houses to create the preliminaries.

New for this edition is that all subscriptions take place online @ vi.be, the online music community of Poppunt. If you subscribe your band before the 1st of june, you can even win a concertspot @ Bruksellive, the festival managed by the Brussels youth houses!
Reaching to the finale means: playing @ the AB box! This is already a great gift for all finalists. At the very same moment 5 other contests in every Flemish province take place. Together with those 5 other contests we have a common project called ‘100% Puur”, which is coordinated by Poppunt. This project gives all finalists of all 6 contests opportunties to gig in clubs, festivals, youth houses…In 2009/2010 all finalists of all 6 contests will participate tot this project.
