'... deze avond voelt het best, met ogen dicht gesloten en de muziek op weemoeddovend luid ...' (from: Dieper).

WHERE do you go when you're alone? WHERE can you go when you want to be alone for a while? WHERE should you search for it and WHERE can you still go if you've gone far too far?
'WAAR' is a CD that asks many questions. WAAR is a CD that tells many tales. Tales of inspiration, of perseverance, of friendship. WAAR is a courageous CD that in these sometimes so dark and cynical times dares to be heart-warming embrace of a sparkling joie-de-vivre. A CD too that is a loud and whole-hearted 'fuck you' to indifference. WAAR is an ode to that indomitability.
WAAR tells of the unique mood during the recordings in the legendary Jet-studio in Brussels, WHERE in bygone days performers like Edith Piaf, Shirley Bassey and Gilbert Bécaud recorded their albums. About working in Studio 150 in Amsterdam, WHERE Paul Weller records his CDs these days, the man that once definitively changed the path of Rick's life with his band The Jam. WAAR is a CD with a mission. WAAR tells of the hundreds of life performances that Jan and Rick have played together in Flanders and The Netherlands, WHERE the twelve songs where kneaded into their final form. Twelve songs that meet one another at the crossroads of nostalgia and desire. Somewhere halfway between Amsterdam and Brussels, WHERE many worlds meet. WAAR tells the tale of the unbridled ambition of two friends, who travelled together to London to personally request permission from Lou Reed for their brilliant version of 'Karolien Zegt'. WAAR recites the tale of the quest and the long road that we sometimes have to take to get there. Where? WAAR!
