Get Well Soon is the solo project of German singer-songwriter Konstantin Gropper. ‘Vexations’ is the title of the new album that will be released here on 8 January (via City Slang/V2), the successor to debut 'Rest Now, Weary Head! You Will Get Well Soon'. The extent of Gropper's versatility is apparent on the new album: poetry drenched in baroque arrangements.

In 2008, the then 25-year-old young German gent wrote his fantastic debut CD on his very own. His musical taste is to be found in diverse genres like electronica, soundtracks, Motown pop and dark alt.rock. Perfect stuff for fans of Arcade Fire, The National, or even Radiohead. Take into account his daring (he even put Underworld's 'Born Slippy' through the wringer) and the slightly euphoric album reviews (**** Uncut) and we can surely speak of a talented and successful eastern neighbour. Following fine visits during ABClub Circuit (in the 4AD in Diksmuide) and as support to Calexico in the AB, this pedigree performer now returns to Brussels.

Support act will be the Americans Musee Mecanique from Portland, Oregon. Their debut ‘Hold This Ghost’ dates from 2008 and the American magazine XLR8R wrote of it: ‘A layered, delicate take on folk, meticulously arranged with an ear for atmosphere and texture, with surprises unfolding every moment’.
