8:30 pm - RAz oHARA ANd THE odd oRCHESTRA
You thought you'd already see quite a few band names with strange typologies after dEUS or tUnE-yArDs? Then what do you think about RAz oHARA ANd THE odd oRCHESTRA? Behind this strange band-name you will find, in the first place, RAz oHARA or rather Danish Berlin-resident Patrick Rasemussen. A man blessed with a divine larynx that reminds us of that other modern-day soul/funk god - Jamie Lidell. You may know him without realising it - from his previous collaborations with Apparat (also from Berlin). Behind THE odd oRCHESTRA, we recognize the likes of Olivier Doerell - a previous guest at the Feeërieën with his band S.W.O.D. They've already released two relatively minimal albums together, entitled ‘I’ and ‘II’ and containing echoes of Four Tet, jazz, dub, electronica and jazz.

Assertion 1: Flip Kowlier made the first fully-fledged dutch-language hip-hop album in Belgium, ‘En In Izzegem’, under the moniker ‘T HOF VAN COMMERCE.
Assertion 2: Kowlier has now made the first fully-fledged dutch-language dub/reggae album in Belgium, ‘Otoradio’. Think: ‘Aux Armes Et Cætera’, the legendary album by Serge Gainsbourg in ’78 that was recorded with the perfect Jamaican rhythm section: Sly & Robbie. The link? Deep basses and a fine parlando. Or, also think: Doe Maar. You already know the single ‘Mo Ba Nin’. Tracks like ‘Bad Boy’ (“‘t is ne Bad Boy - vliegt dor ut den droi - en de mountainbike - i kapot.) and ‘Zwembad’ will be known by heart by the end of the summer. We're true fans! The perfect closer for the Feeërieën? Oh yeah! Excuse us: Oh Jah!
