Dijf Sanders' new album will be released at the end of August on the Noisesome label (see also: Motek). The man is in top form on it and still makes an adventurous mix of bebop, swing, jazz, pop and electro. Single 'The Great Downfall' is a danceable forerunner. At the time of his previous work, De Morgen wrote: 'the electronic Tom Waits' and the Volkskrant '... as if Waits, Squarepusher and Miles Davis started jamming'.

Dijf Sanders debuted in 2003 with his first 12inch on Rotterdam's Clone/DUB label. What started as a solo project developed into a live-band with the years. Together with trumpet player Jon Birdsong (from the likes of Beck and Calexico) he released the album 'Mating Season' in 2004. Following this period he started his collaboration with keyboard/double-bass player Benjamin Dousselaere with whom he released the album 'To Be A Bob' in 2005.

Johnny Berlin recently turned up with the fantastic 'Four' and an impressive chart-story (De Afrekening, Jim TV) to accompany it . This single can also be found on their debut 'Find What You Love and Let It Kill You', which was approvingly received as exciting, melodious guitar-rock with synthesizers. A unique, fresh sound that ties in with the current draft of post-punk bands (Bloc Party, The Killers...) and the original '80s wave (Tubeway Army, A Flock Of Seagulls...)

'On their intriguingly titled debut they deal in post-punk, that manages to stay out of the corner thanks to nuanced vocal work and restless electronica'. (Humo)

'Johnny Berlin's disarming vocal harmony and feeling for melody sometimes remind one a little of Grandaddy, but his compact sound is variegated enough to find its own way. To be discovered'.

"Find What You Love And Let It Kill You" staat zonder twijfel in mijn CD Top 10 van 2008. Dijf nog nooit live gezien, maar klinkt in elk geval lekker zo in de huiskamer. Kijk er dus al naar uit.
