Crystal Castles from Canada: this duo's bouncy electro is mostly made with the same 8-bit electronica that was used in the very first computer games, Atari etc. That gives a narrow but fiery effect, supported by terrorizing beats heading in all directions. Ethan Kath is the musical brain behind this first-generation-ringtone electro band and that has also already provided remixes for Bloc Party and Klaxons. He found the ideal partner in vocalist Alice Glass, she gives some of the tracks the allure of early The Knife material. Not to be missed!

Support act for this re-programmed Crystal Castles show will no longer be Plastic Operator, but rather the extremely funny and festive live electro-pop duo Curry and Coco. Without an album for the moment (it'll be out in 2009) but already hot with our southern neighbours, where all the hip labels are on their tail.
