In order to satisfy the great demand for tickets, there will be a second Arid concert in the AB, namely on Sunday 28 February 2010. Moreover, the band has released 3 exclusive snippets of new songs that you can pre-listen exclusively here  on the Aridsite. The album itself will only be released in February, so enjoy this foretaste to the fullest.

The new single from our fatherland's pride, ARID, will be released in January. Yup, singer Jasper Steverlinck's band has been hanging out in the studio over recent months and their new, fourth album is now finished. The complete album will only be released in February 2010 and will be presented to the broader public during a two-dayer in the AB, on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February.

After their Rock Rally final in 1996 (the grand crû year with Novastar, Tom Helsen and An Pierlé), Arid was quite rightly offered a record deal. Their debut ‘Little Things Of Venom’ was released in 2000 with the assistance of Piet Goddaer (Ozark Henry) and David Dewaele (Soulwax). The singles ‘Life’ en ‘Believer’ immediately brought the band to the attention of the general public. Successor ‘All Is Quiet Now’ was released in 2002, with hit singles ‘You Are’ and ‘Everlasting Change’, but that very same year singer Jasper Steverlinck went solo and scored a huge hit with his version of ‘Life On Mars', with thanks to David Bowie for the original song and the Kolacny brothers for the packaging. His debut solo album ‘Songs Of Innocence’ was a big success too. In 2008 Arid confirmed its status once again, with the album ‘All Things Come In Waves’ on which the singles ‘Why Do You Run’ And ‘Tied To The Hands’ are to be found. Wallonia also finally fell for their exceptional pop-rock and so Jasper & Co can now also count on innumerable fans below the language-border.

Support act to both Arid shows will be Roadburg, who excelled in the past at Humo's Rock Rally 2008, Pukkelpop 2008 and Limbomania 2007 (silver and audience prize). On 22 February they’ll be releasing their debut album upon the world. ‘Raise Cain’ (recorded in the Temple Studios with Luuk Cox behind the dials – see too: Tim Vanhamel) sounds like the perfect marriage between The Jezus And Mary Chain and Sonic Youth in a radio friendly mood. Pop music? Yes, but not as we know it. Single ‘Instant Flowers’ is then also the ideal warm-up for this mature album with international allures, from a young band that could well become one of the surprises of 2010.
