Fado! Fantastic Portugese song in one of the most remarkable new fado-voices. Her most recent CD 'Para Além Da Saudade' once again scintillated due to Jorge Fernando's production and arrangements. Classical guitar, Portugese guitar and acoustic bass: that trio was more than enough to support Ana Moura's relevant lyrics, or rather: to raise them to an international level. Miss Moura also has Amalia Rodrigues as great (song technical) example. But in contrast to many traditional fadistas she opts for modern day themes. Because if you don't have any (more) feeling with the lyrics how can you possibly sing them well. The general public now follows Ana Moura as far as prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Concertgebouw. You're welcome, bem-vindo à l'AB.
