Ardent feast! Punishing party! With Shantel & Bucovina Club Orkestar: PLANET PAPRIKA Tour 2009! There's the new CD on Crammed Records, but of course there's also the mega live reputation that always precedes our Balkan friend. Planet Paprika promises yet another extremely clever and seriously swinging club formula, such as we are accustomed from this dancefloor specialist. For Shantel-starters, we include a little explanation below.

Shantel is that extremely talented man behind Bucovina Club. That Club, or that concept, is now known worldwide for its sweltering atmosphere, which is based upon an ecstatic mix of DJ-tricks and Balkan-sounds. Or rather: Bucovina-vibes!? That's how Shantel refers to his origins in Bucovina, a region between Moldavia and Bessarabia (or more broadly: Romania and the Ukraine).

Known for his brilliant remixes and compilations, but now also a provider of mature CDs like the previous one, 'Disko Partizani'. De Standaard wrote of it, at the time: 'five years of pioneers work... ambitious continental-European pop music... fortunately the instrumental mishmashes from all corners of Europe produce and exciting whole... who'd dare send Shantel to the Eurovision Song Festival?'
