70's bluesrock + soul + gospel = swinging night out
Rival Sons presents swinging blues-rock that would seem to have been sent over from the '70's via a time-machine. Think: a cross between Led Zeppelin and The Black Crowes with a good dash of gospel, blues and soul added. Nothing new under the sun but the four from Los Angeles get away with it because it dripping class (according to Kindamuzik after their show in Amsterdam last November). Their album ‘Pressure & Time’ was released last year on Earache/EMI and after hitting the spot at Rock Werchter and in Antwerp's Trix, Rival Sons will be arriving in Brussels for the first time on 9 April.
'Quite some strong guitar, rock songs that many a band would be jealous of, the required distortion on the left and right guitars, and a well-timed tempo change to let you get your breath back. Singer Ray Buchanan (what a voice!) and his mates swung quite a way. And we liked it!' (HUMO after Rock Werchter 2011)
