Electro pop from Is Tropical & screening 'The Best of Belgium'
Is Tropical are set to release their third album ‘Black Anything’ winter 2014/spring 2015; via New York based indie label Axis Mundi.
Working alongside long-time producer and collaborator Luke Smith, with the addition of full-time member Kirstie Fleck (singer of 2013’s hit 'Dancing Anymore'), they set out in the summer of 2014 to record across five of the continents. The result, Black Anything, will be released in five 10” ‘double AA’ installments.
Starting the project by building a studio during the label’s foundation in Brooklyn, NY for their first release (‘On My Way / Crawl’) and subsequently setting up temporary spaces to record in Murcia, Spain and London.
Planning to finish with field recordings and sessions in Mexico, China and Morocco, the intention of the album is to be an evolving record of a year’s worth of the band’s noted touring schedule and ‘band without borders’ mantra. Installments of the full project will be available as early pre-order in October 2014 with the final 10” expected Summer 2015.
