The unassailable indie-bard, a sure bet for pure songs
Bonnie Prince Billy is still, without a doubt, our most favourite bard of the 21st century. Heart-rendingly beautiful folk-noir is and remains the trademark that he has been using for more than 20 years now already. This Will Oldham released not only albums under his own name, or his most well-known alias Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, but also under the flag of Palace (Palace Brothers, Palace Music, Palace Songs). He has collaborated with the likes of Matt Sweeney, Tortoise, Dawn McCartney and artists like Mark Lanegan, Johnny Cash (!) and Marianne Faithfull have been more than happy to cover him.
