An ecodynamic management
The AB attaches a lot of importance to eco-dynamic entrepreneuring. Already since October 2002 the Ancienne Belgique has been using the reusable cup. Together with a variety of other initiatives, the AB - being a major concert hall - wants to play a prominent role in 'eco-dynamic management'. The introduction of the reusable cup was part of a major project with the aim of receiving the eco-dynamic label. This certificate was granted by the Brussels Institute for the Preservation of the Environment. Signing the charter implies that the AB is taking a whole range of initiatives to promote a better environment without impeding the normal activities.
Here are some examples of other initiatives: Energy-saving lamps on places which are constantly illuminated; using a simulation programme to prepare light shows; performing permanent sound analyses during concerts; placing speakers on dampers or hanging them on springs; etc. Furthermore, we try to use as little paper as possible for promotion purposes and we have abandoned promo tools as flyering and guerrilla postering; flyering is no longer allowed on the AB premises. We recycle where possiblen: batteries, toners and cartridges are collected for recycling. Our maintenance teams are being sensibilised with regard to the use of eco-friendly products. And, on our website we promote carpooling.
These are a few of the initiatives contributing to a better environment inside and outside the AB and cutting costs on a short term. Ecology and economy going hand in hand at the AB.
