Kim Hiorthøy has designed an A1 format poster especially for Norway Now

Norwegian graphic designer (have you already noticed that we're a big fan of the man?) and illustrator Kim Hiorthøy has designed an A1 format poster especially for Norway Now. Kim Hiorthøy is in-house designer for the impressive Rune Grammofon label (see too: his expo in AB from 1 – 31 December), often works as cover-designer for Smalltown Supersound and has provided the artwork for most of Motorpsycho's covers.

Hiorthøy is also a film-maker. He recorded the black & white Supersilent concert film ‘7’ (every Supersilent album is assigned a number) that was released in ’05 via Rune Grammofon and he's made more than a handful of clips for Motorpsycho (most of which can be found on the DVD ‘Haircuts’). A number of his short-films could previously be seen at the very first Rune Grammofon expo outside of Norway, namely in ‘03 at AB during the Domino festiva,l where Kim also performed live (an account of which can to be found on ‘Live Shet’ from ’04 - with the rear cover containing a ‘letter of complaint’ from a disgruntled fan who thought the AB concert sucked).

Hiorthøy is a talented musician too. He made a number of IDM/electronica classics in the form of ‘Melke’ and ‘Hei’ (both via Smalltown Supersound). His latest project, Drivan, is a Finish/Swedish collaboration on which Kim works with voices.

Kim Hiorthøy has made a unique A1 overview poster for Norway Now in his own peculiar style. You can pick it up for free (as longs as stocks last) in the AB ticket shop. Free? Yep. Because art should be accessible.  But above all to provide you with an unforgettable souvenir of Norway Now. We're completely counting on your savings to have it framed though. Even though Kim Hiorthøy has said the following about that: “I don’t think posters should be in frames…”.
